The Candid connector gives Claude access to comprehensive nonprofit and philanthropic data, including 1.9M+ nonprofits and foundations, expert knowledge resources, and the Philanthropy Classification System taxonomy.

The Candid integration relies on Claude's ability to use remote connectors.

Note: This connector is currently in beta with core functionality available.

What this connector provides

  • Search organizations: Find nonprofits and foundations by name, mission, location, work area, transparency seal, or leadership demographics (women, BIPOC, LGBTQ+, people with disabilities)
  • Find mentioned organizations: Automatically identifies organization names in conversation and links them to official Candid profiles
  • Knowledge search: Access Candid's expert knowledge base including research reports, training materials, blog posts, and curated daily news
  • Find relevant taxonomic terms: Uses AI to identify relevant terms from Candid's Philanthropy Classification System based on your descriptions

Who can use this

Available to all paid Claude plan users. Basic search requires no separate Candid account, though some advanced features may require additional authentication.

Setting up the connector

For organization owners (Team and Enterprise)

  1. Navigate to Admin settings > Connectors
  2. Select Browse connectors
  3. Search and select Candid
  4. Select Add to your team

For individual users

  1. Navigate to Settings > Connectors
  2. Select Browse connectors
  3. Search and select Candid
  4. Follow the instructions to enable
