Why use Claude Design for presentations

Speed and Efficiency

Creating a presentation from scratch typically involves wrestling with slide templates, formatting, and layout decisions. Claude Design handles all of this instantly. You describe what you need in plain language, and Claude generates a complete deck ready to present—no design skills required.

Brand Consistency

If your organization has set up a design system in Claude Design, your slides automatically apply your brand's colors, typography, and visual style. This ensures consistent branding across all presentations without manual tweaking, and eliminates the "this looks different from our other materials" problem.

Interactive and Dynamic

Claude Design presentations are generated as interactive HTML rendered in the canvas, offering capabilities beyond static slide software. You can iterate, refine, and customize slides in real-time within the conversation, seeing changes instantly.

Real-World Applications

Teams at Anthropic are using Claude Design presentations for:

  • Meeting prep decks with customer-specific branding
  • All-hands and company-wide presentations
  • Co-branded partner proposals
  • Executive readouts and quarterly reviews
  • Board presentations and investor updates

Creating a presentation

Getting Started

To create a presentation, simply describe what you need in your prompt. Be specific about your audience, key messages, and any organizational context that should influence the design.

Example Prompts

Here are some prompts that work well:

  • "Create a 10-slide deck about Q1 results with sections for revenue, product updates, and team highlights"
  • "Build a 15-slide executive overview of our product roadmap for the board"
  • "Generate a meeting prep deck for my customer call covering use cases, competitive positioning, and next steps"
  • "Make a 5-slide partner proposal deck that's co-branded with our partner's logo and colors"
  • "Create an all-hands presentation covering Q2 OKRs, hiring plans, and culture updates"

Customizing your deck

Once Claude generates your initial presentation, you can edit it to match your exact needs.

Editing Individual Slides

You can request changes to specific slides by referencing them clearly in your message. For example: "On slide 3, change the headline to 'Market Opportunity' and rewrite the bullet points to focus on TAM."

Adding and Removing Slides

Need more slides? Just ask. You can request entirely new slides with specific content, or ask Claude to expand a section into multiple slides for better pacing.

Charts and Visualizations

Claude Design can incorporate data visualizations directly into your slides. Describe the data you want to visualize and Claude will generate appropriate charts.

A benefit of presenting in HTML (vs. PPT) is that Claude Design can also create animations to storytell across your slides.

Images and Embedded Content

You can ask Claude to include images, logos, and other visual elements in your slides. If you're using a design system with approved imagery, Claude will pull from those assets automatically.

Sharing & collaboration

You can share your presentation with colleagues through the standard Claude sharing mechanism. The options are:

  • “Private”
  • “Anyone in your organization with the link can view”
  • “Anyone in your organization with the link can comment” — default
  • “Anyone in your organization with the link can edit”

When multiple users have access, they can both chat with the agent together in a group chat-style interface.

Export & download options

Slides are exportable in the following ways:

  • Export as standalone HTML - best for interactivity and animations
  • Export as PPTX
  • Export as PDF
  • Download project as .zip
  • Send to Canva
  • Hand off to Claude Code
