Talent is one of the most pressing issues in AI implementation. A small team of high-agency people with the right skills and access to Claude can transform an entire company. The hard part is building that depth of talent: engineers with the highest level of AI fluency who can take Claude from an idea to a system in production and turn it into faster processes and new products and services. The engineers who drive the most value share a way of working. They choose the problems worth solving, build on the company’s own systems and data, get the work through security review, and change how the teams around them work. Then they teach others, and the skills spread through the company. One team like that can change how a business operates, and the companies moving fastest with AI are the ones turning a few of those people into many. Claude Frontier Academy is built from our own work deploying Claude inside the world’s largest enterprises and the professional services organizations that serve them. It trains people the way our own engineers learn, to the standard of Anthropic’s own engineers, so they can lead the hardest Claude work and spread those skills across their organizations.
How the Academy works
Organizations are putting AI to work to speed up how they operate and to create new products and services. Success depends on people with the skills to make that happen. Claude Frontier Academy is built to provide deep, hands-on training in these skills.
Nomination only, with a high bar for every program
Designed by Anthropic practitioners
Grounded in real work
Small cohorts with peers from other leading organizations
Leads to an Anthropic credential that proves capability
Starts with enterprise customers and partners, and will grow to serve more roles over time
The Frontier Deployed Engineer Residency follows the medical model for building expertise. Doctors learn from practicing physicians, train on real cases, and are assessed before they practice alone. Likewise, engineers in the Residency learn from practitioners, practice on realistic cases, and are assessed on their work before they earn the credential. The goal is agentic systems that change how a business runs, from faster, redesigned processes to new products and services. The program is for hands-on software engineers with strong fundamentals, a record of building with LLMs, and experience helping others adopt AI.
The intensive · 4 days
Residents spend three days in person building a Claude system for a simulated enterprise, from the first customer request through security review to handover. On the fourth day, they’re graded on a new scenario. Those who pass earn their first badge: Claude Resident Engineer.
The residency · 12 weeks
Residents then spend 12 weeks leading a Claude deployment at their own organization, with cohort-based mentorship and support from Anthropic engineers.
The credential · assessment
After the 12-week residency, residents are assessed on a final practical to earn the final badge: Claude Frontier Deployed Engineer. Anthropic expects to award the first in early 2027.
