Introducing artifacts for legal work
Claude for Legal now includes ready-to-use artifacts for legal work that teams can adapt with their own data and connectors, and share across the business.
Today, we’re introducing ready-to-use artifacts that legal professionals can adapt to how their teams work and share with colleagues across the business. Since we launched Claude for Legal in May, the most common requests from legal teams have been for simpler setup and easier ways to work with colleagues.
Artifacts are interactive tools, such as trackers and dashboards, that teams can use and share in Claude. Our new legal gallery includes artifacts for specific tasks, such as reviewing a stack of contracts, tracking regulatory changes, and taking in legal requests from the business. Each artifact opens with an example, so legal professionals can see how the work comes together before adding their own data and connectors. Each answer or output has a link to its source.
We are also funding public interest groups building artifacts for access-to-justice work and legal education programs teaching tomorrow’s lawyers to build with Claude, and we are starting a Legal Ambassadors Program so legal professionals can learn from each other.
What’s in the gallery
With these artifacts, a legal professional brings their own documents and sources, Claude completes the first pass, and a lawyer applies their judgment to the results. They cover the work legal teams raised with us most often:
- Cite check compares a legal document with its sources and flags quotes that don’t match, wrong page numbers, and sources that don’t support the claim.
- Jurisdiction survey matrix compares a legal topic, such as data breach notice rules, across states or countries in one table, with links to the underlying law.
- Matter board turns engagement letters, emails, or spreadsheets into one board of open matters, showing the owner, next step, and next deadline.
- Playbook deviation board compares contracts with your company’s standard terms, flags each clause that differs, and sends it to the person who approves exceptions.
- Regulatory horizon scan maps upcoming regulations on a timeline, based on your company’s business and where it operates, and ranks them by impact with links to the sources.
- Tabular review builds a table from a set of contracts, showing the terms you ask about, such as severance or non-competes, with links to the exact language.
Tailored to how teams work and shared with guardrails
Every legal team works differently and artifacts work best when they’re connected to the systems legal teams already use. Legal professionals can ask Claude to tailor artifacts to their team and use connectors to bring in their playbooks or research sources, so nobody has to upload documents manually.
Since we launched Claude for Legal, we’ve added more than 60 legal connectors, including Bloomberg Law, Filevine, Ivo, Legora, and Patlytics. See our legal directory (opens in new tab) for the complete list.
Artifacts enable collaboration inside and outside the organization. A legal team can work on an artifact with colleagues across the business or with clients and partners, with sharing settings that ensure privacy and support ethical walls between teams.
Opening the gallery to legal tech and law firms
We partnered with legal tech companies and law firms to build artifacts for legal professionals. Each artifact is in the gallery for legal professionals to discover, test, and adapt to their work:
- AI Governance Benchmark built by Goodwin (opens in new tab) benchmarks a company's approach to AI governance to surface potential gaps.
- Harvey Intake built by Harvey (opens in new tab) gives business users one place in Claude to send legal questions and requests, answering routine ones from Legal’s own guidance in Harvey and routing the rest to a lawyer, whose reply comes back in Claude.
- Obligations Checker built by Foley & Lardner (opens in new tab) reviews agreements for the obligations of both parties and helps validate expectations pre-closing and track expectations post-closing.
- Subpoena Response Tool built by PwC (opens in new tab) turns your team's precedents, standard objections and templates into automated, audit-ready first drafts so lawyers can focus on the complex issues while responding faster.
We are excited to see legal tech companies, law firms, legal aid organizations create and share their own artifacts, and have more artifacts coming from Legora and Orrick.
“At Accenture, Claude is helping us transform the way our legal teams work. We're excited about the opportunity to reimagine legal workflows and unlock new ways for our legal professionals to support our business.”
“Anthropic has invested heavily in building the best models for legal work. We build agents on Claude because it is best in class in our internal benchmarks and we're excited to continue pushing the frontier in legal with Anthropic.”
“Legal sits at the center of every agreement, but too often the work is disconnected from the rest of the business. With Anthropic, we're bringing the power of the Docusign platform directly into Claude, enabling legal teams and cross-functional stakeholders to create, review, and move agreements forward.”
“At Eve, we built PlaintiffBench to measure AI on the work plaintiff attorneys actually do, using real drafts, corrections and edge cases our customers have flagged. Every new model has to prove itself there before it reaches a firm, and Claude Opus 5.5 has made a real leap. For a plaintiff firm juggling hundreds of cases, those hours add up fast.”
“Personal injury cases aren’t built in one step. They’re built over months, through hundreds of connected judgments and tasks across records, notes and emails. Claude is the frontier model we trust to orchestrate that long-running work, so EvenUp can deliver at the standard firms and their clients depend on.”
“Litigation demands absolute precision: retrieving case-defining facts from vast stores of evidentiary materials and deploying purpose-built agents to take follow-on action, whether preparing a witness or drafting a motion. By connecting Filevine and LOIS to Claude, our customers can take that toolkit wherever they work and act directly on their case files.”

“We built the AI Governance Benchmark with Claude so any company can work through the same questions our AI practice uses with clients, see where its approach to AI governance has gaps, and know which areas to address first.”
“Business teams are already bringing their questions to Claude. Harvey meets them where they work, giving Legal the ability to set the rules, see what’s being asked, and step in to manage risk. We’re proud to build with Anthropic to make that possible.”

“The businesses that win act on their agreements as fast as they make decisions. Claude for Legal brings Ironclad's contracting intelligence directly into the platforms business teams already use. Ironclad's integration helps every Claude for Legal user move faster, reduce risk, and stay compliant, with trusted AI built on every agreement, approval, and obligation.”

“With Ivo and Claude, legal teams can turn the contracts they already keep in Ivo into artifacts they can share across their team—like a renewal calendar that tracks every notice date across their portfolio—with no manual uploads. Every answer is backed by the contract language it came from, and Ivo stays the system of record.”
“As legal teams adopt AI across more parts of their business, they need trusted legal intelligence available in those environments. By connecting Legora to Claude, we’re making it easier for mutual customers to get answers to legal questions within their broader enterprise AI workflows, with links back to Legora for source review, citations and deeper legal work.”

“For those of us protecting immigrant rights, the pace of change is dizzying. Moreover, the consequences of falling behind can be devastating. Immigration Papers Reader gives overstretched teams the tools to keep up and help families in turbulent times.”
“AI delivers value in Legal when it’s built into how lawyers actually work. Through our alliance with Anthropic, PwC’s engineers and our Legal Business Solutions team are building Claude-powered skills and integrations that connect directly to the systems legal teams rely on every day, with the security and governance the profession demands. This isn’t experimentation; it’s becoming part of how legal services are delivered.”

“For DC residents facing eviction or the burden of an old criminal record, legal assistance can change lives. Rising for Justice used Claude to develop tools that help attorneys identify rent ledger errors and assess eligibility for record sealing, streamlining case preparation and letting teams focus on clients' needs and goals.”
“On our chemical structure benchmark, Claude Opus 5.5 correctly identifies over 10% more structures than Opus 5 while using less than half the output tokens. In Solve, it powers patent work from drafting to litigation-grade claim charting.”
“Claude continues to power us as the most widely contract review tool in the world—we're approaching 500,000 contracts per month moving through Spellbook and we wouldn't be here without Claude.”

“At The Access Project, we build tools that help legal teams and self-represented litigants navigate record clearance. This artifact lets anyone start the clean slate process: screen for eligibility, obtain the record, understand how state law applies to each case, and find local filing guidance.”

“There is never enough time, and every minute spent on the math is a minute not spent on who the person is beyond the charge. The Criminal Charge Reality Check tool started with one question: how do we make that part faster, so the time goes to the person instead?”
Access to Justice and the Legal Ambassadors Program
The gallery includes nine access-to-justice artifacts, five of which were built by nonprofit and public interest organizations we supported with Claude credits:
- Criminal Charge Reality Check built by Zealous (opens in new tab) takes a criminal charge and shows defense teams the sentencing range, public data on how those cases usually end, and standard playbooks for release. New York only.
- Immigration Papers Reader built by Mobile Pathways (opens in new tab) turns a client’s immigration paperwork into a plain-language first read of key dates and missing documents.
- Rent Ledger Reviewer built by Rising for Justice (opens in new tab) helps attorneys find errors in a landlord’s rent ledger when preparing an eviction case. Based on D.C. law.
- Record-Sealing Screener built by Rising for Justice (opens in new tab) helps attorneys assess whether a client’s criminal record is eligible for sealing. Based on D.C. law.
- Record Clearance built by The Access Project (opens in new tab) helps legal aid teams work out whether a client’s record can be cleared under their state’s rules.
This builds on the Oxford Justice Innovators Programme, our 12-month program with the Oxford Institute of Technology and Justice and Microsoft that supports up to 10 innovators expanding access to justice.
We are also launching the Legal Ambassadors Program, a community for legal professionals who build with Claude to share their work and learn from each other. Join the waitlist (opens in new tab).
